One night till tour..!

One more night until tour. I’m currently standing in my kitchen consuming a rather underwhelming lunch of rice and canned chilli, scoffing it down as fast as possible before returning to the office, which today is the living room.

Today in work, Im Trying to desperately tie up as many loose ends as possible, making sure all my tickets are counted for, or are at least sufficiently noted up for my colleagues to be able to decipher in my absence.

Next to me in the washing machine is a lovely fur fleece that I spilt something on. I’m watching it anxiously as it spins in the water, hoping the quick 15 minute cold cycle does not ruin its soft texture.

Speaking of fur, my new converse arrived. They are lined with fur for some reason. I was so rushed to snap them up in the sale I obviously didn’t read the small print, or possibly which section of the store I happened to be shopping in. At least I went for an adults size, regardless. Seeing as you are taking the time to read this blog, I’m guessing you might not mind these thrilling, erm mundane tales of pre tour life.

Not that the fleece has much to do with tour, though if I’ve ruined it I will carry a sense of guilt through the first few days away.

The first tour I did, well, the first tour I did with InMe was a chaotic affair and I overpacked, big time. An enormous case filled to the brim with everything, along side my rucksack filled with even more stuff. I could feel the rolling eyes every time we had to get the bags in and out of the van. On that tour, I left my expensive headphones in one hotel and left my whole guitar fx rig in a venues alcoves. Rock city I think, the smaller one anyway. Another big cheers for Davey g who did the round trip to go and get it. My headphones were luckily mailed to me by the hotel.

I’ve a far more compact set up now, case filled of clothes and a small ruck sack with all the other jazz. Toiletries, medicines, a copy of v for vendetta, my iPad for bringing you these classic blog posts, my little hand held retro games machine, chargers and at least two sets of headphones.

This will accompany me everywhere.

It’s all unpacked on my side of the sofa, ready to be squeezed in early tomorrow before lift off.

I will no doubt pack this bag and my case many more times in the morning before we leave, just in erm… in case.
